Journey

2009

2009

The inspiration for Sparsh Foundation was born in 2009, rooted in a mission to help the needy. The journey began with Niketa Ghiya, whose both kidneys failed in 1986. Her mother donated a kidney, and the transplant was done in Mumbai. After ten years, the donated kidney also failed, and Niketa was on hemodialysis in Nadiad. Despite her struggles, Niketa started organizing charity shows to generate funds for dialysis patients. In 2009, Dr. Darshna Thakker learned about Namrata Shodhan, associated with Satsang Parivar, who had joined Niketa's mission. Dr. Darshna Thakker supported them by generating more funds through selling CDs of divine music in Namrata Shodhan's voice.

2014

By 2014, the team behind Sparsh Foundation had completed many musical events under the project "SA RE GA MA THI SARVAR." Seeking to make a larger impact, Sparsh Foundation was officially founded in 2014 with the mission of touching many more lives and taking care of their emotional and physical health.

In 2015, Sparsh Foundation was registered as a charitable trust, formalizing the activities that had been ongoing for over two decades as individual, nameless efforts to serve society. The Foundation aims to streamline all these good causes and raise support for them. We believe in action, not just words, and focus on making a difference through collective efforts.

2017

In 2017, Dr. Darshna Thakker's story was featured in "Inspiring Stories of Successful People Around the World, Indian Edition," a book by Aneesh Bhanot. She was one of the 32 inspiring personalities covered in this book dedicated to Neerja Bhanot, Aneesh's sister, who saved hundreds of lives during a Pan Am plane hijack in Karachi, Pakistan, and was the youngest recipient of the Ashok Chakra.

This initiative aims to provide a holistic approach to cancer prevention and care, based on the belief that changing one’s thinking pattern can change their disease pattern.

2023

In 2023, Sparsh Foundation successfully completed a comprehensive cervical cancer awareness drive for women. This initiative aimed to educate women about the importance of early detection and prevention of cervical cancer. Sparsh Foundation remains committed to its mission of improving health and well-being through education, awareness, and support.
