From Dialysis to Triumph: Mangesh Kamble

Mangesh travelled in a variety of ways from this NID room in Ahmedabad to the JB Auditorium and, on August 21, 2018, into the Kidney Transplant Operation Theatre. The team at Sparsh Foundation accompanied him on this difficult journey, and their thoughtful financial support was invaluable. It all began in August of 2016 when he experienced a sharp headache brought on by a rapid increase in blood pressure.

As a result, his kidneys became pressurised and finally failed. Our volunteers provided him with all the assistance he needed, including daily tiffins, transportation support and educational material needs. Many offered to spearhead a campaign to raise money for him over the following five years, or until he receives his first paycheck after passing away and being left on his own. He's a sweet little boy full of hope and worry about the expenses!

God provided for him; donations from the Sparsh Foundation paid for hundreds of his dialysis sessions and raised money for a transplant. With the help of a group of committed volunteers, Namrata Shodhan and Dr. Darshna Thakker continue to run these kinds of events and fund raise.It was challenging to manage my daily routine because of the water intake limitations and other precautions that had to be followed during dialysis; nevertheless, with the unwavering support of my parents, the Sparsh Foundation, and everyone around me, it was an instructive experience. I came across amazing attempts made by strangers to improve my life and assist me in any way they could. My outlook on life was completely transformed upon witnessing such acts of human marvels. Following the transplant, life has significantly changed! NOW, there are no more limitations on food or water!

Today, completing all of the everyday tasks is incredibly simple. I was stunned by the body's energy flow and relieved from having dialysis three times a week. I sincerely thank God and everyone who supported me during my kidney failure and transplant journey.
