Kidney Failure : Mukesh Mehta

Faith and Generosity Healed Mukesh Mehta

In his 40s, Mukesh Mehta, a young man from rural Rajasthan, was diagnosed with kidney failure when he began experiencing swelling in his legs. Both Mukesh and his spouse Dharmishtha work as primary and mid-school teachers. Dealing with this deadly chronic illness was frightening to them because they could not afford the 15,000 to 40,000 per month that dialysis and treatment costs incurred.

Numerous issues were resolved by their commitment to the village where they live and work, as well as the pupils. From Lariwala to Sarpanch, parents of their kids, and even complete strangers, stepped in to save them and provided them with ongoing financial support so they could receive the right care in Ahmedabad. This exemplifies donating without conditions because the total amount of about 7 lakh was not reimbursed. What a relief! They were able to get by with ease because a cousin brother offered them a free place to stay. In addition to funding several dialysis sessions for him, the Sparsh Foundation advised them to maintain their faith and confidence. Mukesh's spouse became his pillar of support by giving him a kidney.

This couple found it quite challenging to come up with the three lakh rupees needed for a kidney transplant. Once more, the kindness of others made their lives simple, and everything went smoothly. After her kidney donation to her daughter Niketa Ghiya in February 2017, Renuka Ghiya could offer courage to Dharmishtha for a comfortable, kidney-only future. Namrata Shodhan gave the evening with them more power with her singing. The family was worried about the financial strain that would come with monthly post-transplant drug costs of 15,000 to 20,000.

Dr. Darshna, Renuka Ghiya, and Namrata Shodhan made the decision to support post-transplant medications from the Sparsh Foundation on their way home. By the mercy of God and kind donors, Mukesh and the other patient, Dilip, are currently receiving all of their medications at no cost.
